Ideas For Maintaining Normal Cholesterol Levels

February 28th, 2010 by admin

We all know that ideal cholesterol levels are essential for a healthier heart and cardiovascular system. However, maintaining those levels can be easier said than done, particularly if you have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol. While some people must take medications to get back to normal cholesterol levels, others can achieve this goal through simple lifestyle changes. This article will provide tips for maintaining normal cholesterol levels without resorting to prescriptions to do so.

Diet And It’s Affect On Normal Cholesterol Levels

Good dietary choices are probably the first line of defense for normal cholesterol levels. While our bodies produce some necessary cholesterol, most of us eat foods that are high in this substance as well. An abundance of cholesterol cannot be effectively eliminated from the body, so the residual remains as plaque, clogging the arteries and putting undue strain on the heart. Avoiding cholesterol-rich foods that are high in saturated and trans fats is a good start to maintaining normal cholesterol levels.

Normal Cholesterol Levels And Exercise

It is necessary to be physically active at least 30 minutes most days of the week to raise good cholesterol and lower bad cholesterol levels. This may mean a brisk walk around the neighborhood, a few laps in the pool or a bike ride after work. It is best to choose activities that you enjoy because you will be more likely to stick with a workout program you like. Finding a partner to exercise with is another solution to sticking with your program and maintaining normal cholesterol levels.

Weight

Another way to maintain normal cholesterol levels is to maintain a healthy weight. Numerous challenging conditions including high cholesterol occurs because of obesity. If you are overweight, commit to a safe weight loss program under your doctor’s guidance. If you are a good weight currently, practice good eating and exercise habits that will help you maintain your healthy weight and normal cholesterol levels well into the middle and later years of life.

Smoking

Kicking the smoking habit has been shown to lower “bad” cholestrol levels in addition to providing a host of other health benefits. When you quit smoking, your blood pressure levels return to normal within 20 minutes of your last cigarette, and within one day, you effectively reduce your heart attack risk. There is no doubt that kicking the habit will help you achieve normal cholesterol levels and a healthier body overall.

Normal cholesterol levels will mean a healthier heart and cardiovascular system. To keep your body in top condition, follow these simple lifestyle modifications and enjoy numerous health benefits.

Relaxation central - Australia's Gold Coast

February 26th, 2010 by admin

The Gold Coast in Australia is known as the day spa & massage capital of Australia. With over 100 massage and day spa providers, the Gold Coast is home to some of the best companies for relaxation beauty and massage treatments in Australia. These vary widely in style and structure.

For example – many of the large hotel chains have day spas attached, including steam rooms, saunas, spas and a wide variety of massage treatments. These are often more expensive than other companies but do boast the luxury of often plush surroundings and treatments like float tanks, where the client’s body is suspended in high salt water in a darkened tank, designed to relax and soothe all the senses.

Day spas also can offer a variety of massages not otherwise available on the Gold Coast, such as hot stone, pregnancy and Indian Head Massage. There are also smaller businesses that offer Gold Coast massage services. These are typically independent therapists that work in their local region, sometimes unqualified and uninsured. Usually they are cheaper than the larger day spas – however – they offer a much more limited range of services.

These massage therapists usually offer remedial or relaxation Swedish massage treatments, often out of smaller rooms attached to a hair dressers or beauty salon. An excellent alternative to these are mobile Gold Coast massage therapists like Ripple, who offer a wide range of day spa treatments to clients in the privacy of their hotel rooms.

Ripple Massage’s website has much information on Gold Coast massage therapy and is the one mobile massage therapy business in Australia that also offers specialised pregnancy massage to its clients.

Some companies only offer the standard one hour Swedish or Remedial massage treatments in the Gold Coast region. However Ripple Gold Coast Massage is a little bit different in that it offers styles of massage you do not find in other places in Australia, such as chocolate, Russian, Vietnamese Four Hands and Sea Shell massage.

The Gold Coast has long been known as a region for relaxation, so it is not surprising that massage and day spa is popular here. The Gold Coast was a fabulously popular holiday destination for servicemen returning from World War II. In the 1950’s the Gold Coast Region had grown and the 1960’s and 1970’s saw the developers undertake a lot of high rise development.

Surfers Paradise was also known for its glamorous ‘Meter Maids’ in gold bikinis who fed parking meters by the beach to prevent holiday makers from getting parking fines. The hi-rise boom continued right through the 70s and soon the Gold Coast became Australia’s premier family holiday destination. It was then that day spas really started to be built, as well as theme parks and it became known for its blissfull massage treatments.

Today the Gold Coast remains one of Australia’s favourite holiday destinations for families looking to visit the theme parks, escape to the beach and indulge in some relaxation day spa treatments.

Soccer Coaching Drills – A Guide To Trapping

February 25th, 2010 by admin

Soccer Coaching Drills

Imagine a scenario where 50% of the soccer coaching drills should adopt development of trapping skills as their focal point. You would probably dismiss it as a fancy. But make no mistake here. It’s trapping other than passing and dribbling which enhances your team’s ability to become a champion as per an investigation.

Trapping is the ability of the players to intercept the ball and then keep it near their body. In such soccer exercises, they can use their feet, chest, and thighs to do so.

It’s vital for your players to master the skill of trapping the ball. If the players don’t know how to trap the ball, the primary skill, they would fail to have control over the game. Trapping skills of the players can be enhanced by following the ways mentioned here.

Use your feet: As a coach, you must teach the basic lesson of using the feet to maneuver the ball. Especially with younger players in kids soccer drills, it is important to make them use the inside of their foot. The biggest reason for this is that the inside area of the foot is broad and is most helpful in tackling the ball.

Soccer Drills

During soccer coaching drills, the high ranking and senior players should be educated on the use of foot, its crown, and instep of the foot plus the whole foot. In cases where the ball bounces a lot, it is best to make them use their shin or ankle to tackle the ball.

Thigh Movement: Using your thigh to control rapid and bouncy ball is an excellent approach. Guide the players to come in front of the ball, take one thigh up to capture the ball and other thigh to stay grounded. Most importantly, practice dropping your knee once it connects with the ball for the ball to drop down and stay with you rather than getting away.

This activity has to be practiced regularly in order to become an expert at it by first using the knee to catch the ball and then bringing the knee down to prevent it from getting away.

Use the Chest: Trapping a ball flying high in the air with the use of your chest is also equally useful, like the use of thighs. Make the players stand in front of the ball and then ask them to take their chests out as if to confront the ball. The ball will therefore loose its pace immediately and drop down right away to the feet.

But keep in mind that in soccer training drills, young players are given only a few modest lessons on this technique. While using their chest to tackle the ball, it is common for them to use their hands. It could be troublesome because the kids might get accustomed to using their hands to catch the ball.

Now its time to start putting these soccer coaching drills into action. Ensure that the players increasingly practice these. By subscribing to our youth soccer coaching community, keep yourself updated on the latest in the field.

Gynecomastia Reduction: Radiation Or Medication?

February 24th, 2010 by admin

Man boobs may be nothing more than gynecomastia–a medical condition that several young boys go through when they hit puberty. Many men also go through it again when they get older. Though it’s not fully understood, it is caused by hormones releasing and reacting when they shouldn’t. It’s natural to have hormonal imbalances at these changes in life when your body is shifting rapidly. It still doesn’t make it any easier to live with, though, and if you do have gynecomastia, or pseudogynecomastia, then you have options.

It is when a man’s breast tissue becomes very responsive to sexual hormones and inflates. The mammary glands swell up, giving him the appearance of having breasts. It is easy to understand why this happens in adolescents and older men, since it is a time of great change in their physiques.

All people have ‘male’ and ‘female’ hormones, testosterone and estrogen. Men have more of one, women have more of the other. But sometimes large bodily changes can make the one of the lesser amount come to the foreground and make its presence known. Teenage girls can undergo masculine problems like unwanted hair just like men can go through this.

The sad fact is, though, some men really do have what is known as ‘man boobs.’ How do you you tell the difference? How will you know if you need to go to the gym or if your problem is hormonal and will disappear in a few years?

Firstly, gynecomastia can make a man’s breast tissue sensitive, just like a pregnant woman’s engorged breast tissue would be sensitive. One should look at the nipples as a good indicator. Are they puffy? You should also note that if you are working out to change this problem and are seeing no difference, you probably have a hormonal imbalance. It cannot be corrected by exercise.

While ‘man boobs’ are merely fat deposits in over-weight men, gynecomastia is a glandular issue. So if your breast tissue is out of proportion with the rest of your physique or if you lose weight yet the man boobs remain, you probably have gynecomastia.

But what kind do you have? You could have extreme gynecomastia, you could have the asymmetrical type, you could have the nipples-only type, or any other variation. Body builders often stimulate their own gynecomastia by messing with steroids and making their bodies go under extreme changes. Their pectorals can also sag if they decide to reduce their body builder figure. But this is merely the muscle going slack. They must tighten it up with lean exercises.

So how do you solve it? Hormone therapy is the first step and the one which will solve most people’s problems. If it is severe, some doctors recommend radiation. For those who are clearly not going to grow out of it or who have it so severely that it is emotionally painful, liposuction may be your only way out. But make sure you know what you’re doing before you start down the plastic surgery route, because it can go one and lead to more and more problems you never had before, like severe scarring or serious medical problems.

Yes, man boobs are a concern for thousands of men. They are caused by the condition known as gynecomastia. If you are dealing with this condition, then we know you want to get rid of moobs. By reading information on the Web, you will find many different techniques, check out ManBoobsSolution.com for even more information on how to get rid of those moobs.
