I want to go to medical school after college. It doesn't have to be like.. Harvard Medical School or anything, I just want to go to medical school. So I'm going to Vocational School to learn Medical Skills. How exactly do you succeed in medical classes? I'm a good student, but I want to do great from now on. I'm going into 11th grade. I'm still taking all the required classes at my homeschool, but I want to do good in Vocational School more than at homeschool.
My average grades are low A's. I'm in honors classes at my homeschool. I do all my homework and I'm usually focused. How do I get colleges to notice me? And are there any scholarships for striving nurses?
PLEASE HELP ME!
You don;t need to go to vocational school in order to get into medical school. What you need to do is the following:
1) Do well in the sciences and your other classes so you can get into a university
2) Study hard for the next 4 years. Most premeds tend to major in Biology because the major coincides with the premed requirements.
3) Research the different medical schools and chekc up on their requirements and averages
4) Take the MCAT
5) Do well on interviews
6) Get accepted!
Hope this helps!
PS: There are scholarships for nurses. You might want to try something local before looking for regional/national scholarships!

I'm studying at Pitt next year to get my Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering and a really great thing happened– I received a scholarship that pays for ALL four years of college in full.
I was wondering if after obtaining this degree, I will have no debt, could I go to medical school to become a doctor??
I know it's a long way away, but is it possible to make that transition?
Yup….you just need to also take the premed prereq courses (some, if not most, of which will overlap with your degree–biology, gen chem, orgo, physics, math), take the MCAT, and get involved in medical volunteering/shadowing. Schools care that you have passion and excel within your field….the field of study is less important, since they are looking for broader, transferable skills. Just be careful to keep up your GPA….a tough major doesn't make up for a low GPA in the med school admissions process.
Actually, if you have a true interest in biomed engineering, you'll probably have an edge at certain med schools….biomed tech is a booming field within medicine (eg at my school, you can do a specific concentration of study in biotech).

Hello,
i was wondering if there were any scholarships for NYU.
Can someone please help me out and tell me any scholarships that are avalible for this school.
Any scholarships for NYU medical school as well.
Thanks
Joseph:
Like most large universities and colleges, NYU has well-established endowment funds that allow the university to offer financial assistance to particularly promising applicants. When you apply for admission to NYU, you are automatically considered for every one of the available scholarships. All of these scholarship funds are awarded on a competitive basis – to those applicants who demonstrate the strongest academic, athletic and performance potential. With few exceptions, there are no additional forms to fill out.
A lot of information about scholarships is available at the website of NYU’s financial aid department. You can find that info here: http://www.nyu.edu/financial.aid/scholarships.html
Good luck to you!

I' berly in high School and want to know things ahead of time.
I'm still in High school.
I have just began high school.
Go to the FAFSA website, that is financial aid (I think only need, not merit based, but I could be wrong.)
Ask your guidance counselor for advice, that is really all they are there for.
For the best chances, join lots of clubs play sports etc.
