Should I just go to a medical program at USF or be a pre-med at UF??!? PLEASE READ?
What do you think is better? USF (university of south florida) has a 7 year medical program… I was accepted. Do you think it is better to go there since you are guaranteed admission into medical school or should I go to a more prestigious school such as UF or U of Miami and try to get into a better medical school.
Does medical school rankings really matter? USF is ranked at 74 while U of Miami and UF have medical schools ranked in the 40's (depends on which site you check)….
Thanks! Also, does it help to go to a good medical school if you want to get into a touch residency…? I want to become a dermatologist.
You still need to maintain a certain GPA to be accepted into the medical school, but definitely go there, if a doctor is what you want to do. If a doctor is what you truly want to be, there is no easier path and nothing closer to a guarantee than a 7 year program like that. Going to University of Miami and UF will not help you get into medical school. They are mediocre schools as far as medical schools are concerned.
As far as being a dermatologist, don't worry about that right now. People change their field while in medical school often, let alone being still in high school.

UF and Miami both have very good nationally ranked medical programs.
Do a google search on USF and their accreditation. They have almost lost their accreditation a couple of times and have been recently been on academic probation. I highly recommend AVOIDING USF.
