Medical School interview help!!!?
I have an interview at the University of Leicester for medicine in the new year. I'm actually quite surprised to hear from them because I wouldn't say that I have the best grades (AAB). I have work experience and mentioned this in my personal statement; I think that this alongside my written communication skills may have made me eligible for an interview. I seriously need all the help that I can get, especially from medical students past or present. What type of questions should I prepare myself for? Is there anything that I should really focus on e.g any particular topics related to medicine? P.S the interview is meant to be 40minutes long.
I could use all the help I get, I'm quite nervous at the moment!
Thank You beforehand!
I've had 2 medicine interviews so far (though not at leicester) but one of my mates recently had a med interview at leicester. She said that they asked the typical medcine questions such as "why medicine", "why leicester" what have you read to do with medicine in the news lately". Also they asked her about some ethical issues and senarios ( to do with abortion & euthanasia). She said that overall it wasn't too bad and it felt more like a conversation than an interview cuz the interviewers made her feel really comfortable.

I am from the US so maybe different where you are , but here are a few suggestions. True as other poster said, be yourself and be confident. I would be up to date on recent world events and maybe even read a book or two before you go. look up whats on the best seller lists and read something. try and act like you maybe care about the environment or whatever political things are going on where you are from. Make them see that you have some interests outside of medicine and that you are a well rounded person. they like that here anyway

i talked to my pre-med advisor and he said during an interview, they would ask questions like
-why do you want to be a doctor
Like the person above me stated, you also have to be aware of politics because sometimes the interviewers ask opinions and stuff like that.
