Is There A Weight Loss Program Which Is Fun To Implement?

January 29th, 2010 by admin

On a Saturday night a few years ago, I went out for a few beers with a good friend of mine (Dave). Dave is a partner in a composite door company where he sells among other things external doors, and is a person who I have always admired. We were having a good chat during which I told him about my mission to lose weight. I explained about how as yet, I had not found a suitable weight loss program.

I had been overweight for the majority of my life and I blamed it on the fact that I had a stuttering problem. I would become depressed at the lack of quality stuttering therapy that was available at the time and I would then comfort eat. Dave asked me about what hobbies I had and I replied that I enjoyed playing sports such as Tennis and Football. Well there you go then he continued you should start playing these sports once again. I thought about what he had said and agreed that this could be the way to go.

I asked him if he would like a game of tennis three or four times a week. Dave stated that this might be a bit much as he played six a side football twice a week.

To avoid disappointing me completely he suggested that I should sign up to play 6 a side football and that I could become a member of the team that he was the captain of. I will give it a go, I replied.

I came home rather drunk, but also rather pleased with myself. I now had a weight loss plan which I was sure would work. There will be no quick fix, however this amount of exercise, over a sustained period of time, must have a positive affect on my weight, my fitness and my health.

With this program, I am also able to basically eat what I want, when I want.

It did take quite a while as I had predicted, to reach a weight I was happy with. This was not a problem however, as I was having fun on the way.

My confidence has now taken off and I am now a much more successful business where I now work for a team of telecoms cost reduction specialists.

I am sure that you can also reach your ideal weight with a positive attitude.

A RN Comes to the Conclusion to Stop Smoking, Quit Drinking, Start Exercising, and Go on a Diet

September 28th, 2009 by admin

For the past fourteen years Natalie has been a nurse practitioner at a municipal hospital. As a registered nurse, she certainly knew what to tell her patients when it came to their health issues but in her off-duty life, nevertheless, she definitely didn’t practice what she preached. For instance, she typically drank quite abusively, she almost never exercised, she smoked two packs of cigarettes on a day-to-day basis, and she was just about thirty-two pounds overweight.

Natalie Gets Into A Vehicle Accident, Fails An Alcohol Test, and Goes to The Municipal Jail

One morning on her way to her job, Natalie got into a traffic accident. Due to the fact that the accident was her fault and because her speech was garbled when she talked, the arresting highway patrolman administered a breathalyzer test. According to standard police operating procedures, when a person gets involved in a vehicle accident and does not pass an alcohol test, the person has to spend at least eight hours in the local jail.

In point of fact, Natalie should have known better than to drive after she had been drinking because she recently went to an “alcohol abuse awareness” class at the hospital that focused on issues, statistics, and information about alcohol facts such as the following: binge drinking, alcohol poisoning, DUIs, and the key differences between alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction.

Natalie is Experiencing More Than a Little Shame About Her Car Accident

Needless to say, Natalie was humiliated by her automobile accident. Additionally, she felt disgraced about the fact that the accident was her fault. And perhaps worst of all, she experienced more than a little shame about the fact that she was driving after she had a few drinks. As Natalie thought about her situation, nonetheless, she thought that it could have been worse because at her place of employment, when a blood test for alcohol is given and failed, the individual has to go to obligatory alcohol rehab and is placed on non-pay status. This was basically one of the alcohol facts that was a reality at work and not much could change this fact.

Natalie’s Disgrace About Her Car Accident Helps Motivate Her To Review Her Life and Make Some Significant and Beneficial Changes

In any event, Natalie’s shame about her vehicle accident encouraged her to reexamine her life and make some significant and healthy modifications. First, she was going to abstain from drinking in an irresponsible and excessive manner. Second, she was going to stop smoking. Third, she was going to go on a strict diet. And fourth, she was going to start exercising.

As saddened as Natalie was about the entire automobile accident situation, she used this heartrending experience as a springboard for positive change. Moreover, she used her painful experience as a wake up call that she had been failing to address her own health while she openly told other people how to live a more healthy life. At the end of the day, she finally saw the double standard in her actions and made up her mind that she would live her life as a constructive example for the patients she saw at the hospital.

Quick weight loss exercise

September 25th, 2009 by admin

Expensive wellness programs, diet pills and gym membership are not necessary conditions associated with quick weight loss patterns. Aside from a good diet modification that would involve the reduction of caloric foods, you can perform several quick weight loss exercises to enhance your regimen of losing weight.

Much of the average middle age population spends a majority of their time in non-aerobic activity that is unhealthy to the heart and circulatory system, but also contributes to problems with obesity. Being tied to our jobs, usually does not permit much time for the needed exercise that will help us reduce our weight, however, there are many activities that can help burn calories and result in a reduction of body fat. Some quick weight loss exercise moves when added to your daily regimen will help one develop a good physical shape.

What lots of people fail to do is get ready for the quick weight loss exercise program. One cannot work out effectively without good night rest for instance. An effective program will not function to your benefit if you feel too tired to accomplish your quick weight loss exercise plan. Start by going to bed early enough, so that the first day you are well rested and physically prepared to begin your program.

Start a journal of the quick weight loss exercise routine you would like to create, and write those exercises with the amount of time you spend on each one. Analyze weekly activity and try to increase the practice time for each individual quick weight loss exercise. For example, while during a first week you’ll jog for ten minutes every day, the next week move up to fifteen minutes.

Effective quick weight loss exercises that have a high calorie burning value are brisk walks (particularly if you swing the arms for an extra calorie consume), jumping jacks and running in place. If there is space enough, outdoor activities make even more valuable weight loss exercise solutions to get your heart pumping and burn up the fat. If you are embarrassed to work out in public, you can run up the stairs in your house several times, this is an excellent cardio-exercise that will quickly burn calories.

This is the time when you should not fill-up on high calorie carbohydrates; rather it is more effective to your diet if you crunch on some vegetables or fruits instead.

5 Healthy Tips To Weight Loss

September 4th, 2009 by admin

The world is fascinated with a healthy weight loss program, some for health reasons and others for cosmetic. No matter the reason, many people try harsh diets that never work, extreme exercise regimens that result in injuries or other weight loss program that end without success. The reason that none of these weight loss methods seem to work is because in order to stay with a program, you have to enjoy it. It has to be safe as well.

Below are 5 genuine tips to weight loss, which almost anyone can do without tossing out their favorite food or spending every spare minute in the gym. Realistically, any weight loss program will take time. If anyone promises you different, they are either not being completely honest or are simply uninformed. Follow one single weight loss program for 30 days, whatever it may be, and see if you have results. Move on to to something else if you have to. Check out several tips to get started today while you wait.

Tip # 1
Walking. If you can set aside 30 minutes every day to enjoy a leisurely stroll, you will be strengthening your legs and your heart while burning some calories in the process.

Tip # 2
Utilize a mini cycle. These portable little exercise units offer the look of bicycle pedals set up on a metal bar, but without the high price or weight of a standard exercise bike. Anywhere you can comfortably sit and reach the pedals like on a couch or at your desk is where you can use the mini cycle.

Tip # 3
Walk or take the stairs instead of an elevator. This is a terrific weight loss exercise without even noticing the extra effort. Something as simple as a few extra steps every day can go a long way where weight loss is concerned. The next time you go to the store, park in the middle of the parking lot and walk to the store. It is tempting to park in the closest space to the door but opt to walk instead and don’t park in that closest spot.

Tip # 4
Eat your favorite foods in moderation instead of cutting them out all together. There is no single food that will completely hinder your weight loss attempt but, if consumed excessively, it may. For instance, simply limit your intake to one candy bar or, if you are being really careful, a miniature candy. During the time when you are focusing on weight loss, you don’t have to cut out all your favorite foods when eating a conservative amount will do you the same amount of good.

Tip # 5
Whatever your exercise routine, set aside a certain time each day to do it. Individuals who set a routine are much more likely to stay with it and find success than those who simply exercise whenever they have time. The goal to a healthy weight loss is to make time.

This article is intended to be used for informational purposes only. It is not to be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice or a doctor’s recommendation. Prior to beginning any healthy weight loss, individuals must consult a physician for proper diagnosis and/or treatment.
