Which college would you go to?
Tulane in New Orleans, Louisiana or LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana? Tulane was ranked number 50 best school in the United States and LSU wasn't even on the chart. The chart was on USA Weekly. I want to go into the medical field what would be the best school. I'm going to one of those schools for free through Louisiana's governmentso money is not an issue. I like to party too so keep that in mind. Thanks a bunch.
I want to go into nursing.
i am sitting in the Tulane Business School right now taking a break from studying and i would not want to be anywhere else. i have visitied friends at schools all over the place and this is by far the best place i have ever been. the school has a great pre-med department if thats what you're looking for and a lot of my friends are majoring in different sciences. this school is great because its a small contained campus, but its close to, in my opinion, the most fun city in the country. the partying down here is second to none. the great thing about it is that everything is very layed back so you won't have to worry about getting MIPs and MICs when you're out. the first two weeks of school there will be fraternity parties all up and down Broadway and you won't have to pay a cent for booze. the bars are very accomidating to those that might not be quite 21 and there are always great drink specials. drinking doesn't become your life, but there is always someone to stop by the boot for a pitcher of beer after class or a big test. during midterms and finals i would stay in the library until 1 or 2 in the morning then walk across the street and always find a friend of mine having a pitcher and sitting with their backpacks. another great thing about life down here is that although most people like to party, most people are also very good students. my drinking buddies were the same ones that i would go to the library or student center to study with. i love the bars, but i also love the several study centers that are open 24 hours a day. i have many friends at LSU also and they enjoy it, but its a much larger school than here and is not as personal. i've had several philosophy professors that would go to the bar after class and hang out with a pitcher discussing philosophy and whatever else we wanted to. several times a month there will be live bands that play on the front steps of the University Center and in the spring there are always crawfish boils in the quad. Tulane got beat up a little after the hurricane, but is actually better now than it was before. people have been taking a lot of notice in Tulane recently and last year we had Barak Obama, Bill Clinton, Salman Rushdie, many other notable people come here to speak. i know thats a lot, but i really do love this school. if you're looking for a good balance between fun and academics then this is the best place for you.

I would go to LSU, but it depends on your field of study. I prefer Loyola over Tulane. I don't like the type of neo con backing Tulane has receive as of late, ie. "Islamo Fascist Weekend."

The choice should be yours! Just keep in mind that college is what you make of it. If you want a good education, you will obtain it no matter what standing the school has. Just because a college ranks high on the list does not mean you are goingto receive the best education. Do some good research on all of your prospects. Find out want campus life is like etc. Visit the campus(s) if they are close enough for you to do so.. you will know when you have found the right fit.
